Breath of the underworld Weekend Retreat
November 6th-8th 2026
Camping and breathwork at a secret cenote in the jungles of the Yucatan in Mexico
In the ancient world of the Mayans, cenotes are sacred portals to the underworld.
Within each of us is our own secret underworld - our subconscious self, lurking unseen in the shadows and driving our thoughts, feelings and choices often without even being seen. Through somatic breathwork journeys and connecting with the ancient magic of the cenotes, we will enter our subconscious worlds with a flashlight: bringing awakening, understanding and love into the darkest, dustiest corners of our being.
Get ready to swim in beautiful crystal-clear waters, with unique rock formations, perfect visibility and crazy light beams that will take you to a different world. We will practice yoga and connect with our breath under the trees, and sleep under the stars next to the water. We will enjoy delicious meals with a Mayan family and we will explore local villages. We will make new friends, and meet ourselves on new levels.
Join us for a unique, once in a lifetime experience to deepen your relationship with yourself while exploring the best the Yucatán Peninsula has to offer.

The Yucatan Peninsula
Yucatán is a stunning, mythical region of Mexico and is home to literally thousands of cenotes, not to mention thriving jungle, mouth watering food, ancient history, and incredible people. We chose Yucatán to host us through this retreat because this is a region that is not only beautiful and adventurous, but also a place that is energetically perfectly aligned to hold us as we venture into our deepest spaces.
On the first morning of our retreat, we will meet in the colorful city of Merida for breakfast before journeying all together out into the jungle. Between our daily somatic breathwork journeys, yoga classes and guided meditation sessions, we will be exploring several cenotes, experiencing a traditional Mayan village, having plenty of chill time in our hammocks and playing in our own “backyard” cenote. (Also, have we mentioned the food?! Because seriously, get ready to have the best meals of your life for 3 days in a row.)
This adventure has been designed to offer you the best camping experience. This trip is made for people who love being in nature. At our campsite, we will have toilets available with buckets of water to flush them. There are no showers, but who needs to shower when you’re swimming in the sacred water of the cenote?
We will be disconnected. This means no signal and no electricity. We want you to be present and forget about your phone for 3 days. It’s amazing how good it feels and how deeply you can connect with the people around you.
Get ready to create life-lasting memories, supportive new friendships, and a deeper, fuller relationship with yourself.

Only if you want it to be! If you are a freediver or are interested in becoming one, you will have unlimited access to cenotes to dive and play in during our retreat.
If you are not interested in freediving, that’s great too! The cenotes are amazing to see and swim in even if you never put your head below water.
-
A cenote is a natural sinkhole formed when limestone bedrock collapses and exposes a freshwater pool or reservoir underneath. Yucatan is home to thousands of these - you can imagine the geography of the region as swiss cheese, essentially.
-
The experience starts from Mérida, the capital of Yucatán: a beautiful colonial city famous for its picturesque city center, colonial arquitecture and colourful houses. Mérida does have an airport, or you can fly Cancun and take a bus from there.
As we will be meeting early on day 1 and we will be arriving late afternoon on day 3, we highly suggest you arrive in Mérida the night before the camp and you stay an extra night.
We have partnered with Casa Encuentro Hostel to offer our guests a 20% discount. The hostel is 5 minutes walk from the meeting point. You can book the hostel here.
-
The retreat starts in Mérida, Yucatán on November 6th. We will meet at 8 AM at Flores Café to enjoy a delicious breakfast together before heading out to our first cenote.
-
We will be back in Mérida on Nov 8th around 5:30 pm. If you need to travel the same day we suggest not to book your flight or bus before 8:00 pm.
-
Of course! This is a great experience for solo travellers! You will meet like-minded people and we'll have an amazing time!
This retreat is for everyone! Whether you are travelling by yourself, with your partner or with a friend, we guarantee this will be a once in a lifetime experience!
-
Somatic breathwork is a body-mind practice that uses conscious breathing techniques to dive deep into our subconscious, release tension, process emotions, and regulate the nervous system.
-
We will have basic toilets available with buckets of water to flush them. There are no showers, but who needs to shower when you can use the sacred water of the cenote?
-
No problem! Just let us know and we will prepare delicious food for you. Tasty vegan and vegetarian options are available.
-
We will be camping, so of course this means being in nature and exposed to mosquitos and other insects.
During the winter months the mosquito situation is actually quite good. They do get more intense during sunset but it doesn't last long. Mosquito repellent will be available at the camp.
